Thousands of federal employees are issued mobile devices every year to carry out their agency’s mission. The government has strict security standards for such devices, but a new poll by Government Business Council (GBC) suggests that employee perceptions may be at odds with organizational priorities regarding security of these mobile devices.

Advanced Technology is having a growing impact on our everyday lives. Adoption of advanced technologies and virtual assistants such as Amazon Echo and Google Home are becoming more mainstream in homes. Meanwhile organizations worldwide are increasingly looking at how to implement similar technologies to improve productivity, speed workflows, and increase collaboration among employees, business partners, and even customers.
To date, little is known about perceptions of technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI) and virtual assistants in the workplace and how they will impact how we work in the future.
Businesses must become agile and provide differentiated service as customer demands and expectations change. Moving beyond simple phone transactions, customers are taking matters into their own hands and turning to their peers, the web and social media to find answers. Contact centers play a major role in determining the customer’s perception of a company. Often seen as brand ambassadors, agents are the main interaction point for customers. It is therefore critical that they deliver personalized communications in the channels that customers prefer. Businesses should use cloud technology to add multichannel tools and support growing demand for chat, social, SMS and video.
Digital experiences on mobile connections suffer from performance issues, and impatient users compound the challenges that slower, intermittent mobile connections raise. Firms need to build a new discrete delivery tier to improve users’ perception of mobile performance and drive conversion and engagement. By dynamically adjusting to context, this new delivery tier can adaptively send the right assets, optimize the sequence, and modulate streaming rich media. this report outlines the delivery tier technology options that application development and delivery (AD&D) professionals must embrace.

There is a misperception that cloud is more expensive. It's a common error and is largely a result of applying premises-based best-practices when comparing solution alternatives. Because standard TCO studies often fail to properly value key strengths of cloud-delivered services, they can lead decision-makers astray.
There is no doubt that enterprise cloud is a new and improved IT strategy. Cloud services have proven to improve organizational agility and reduce the burden of IT infrastructure and cost. Moving to the cloud is no longer a question of “if” but “when” and “how.” Most enterprises we interviewed are moving to cloud in phases over time and matching workloads to their perceptions of a vendor’s cloud capabilities that will best support their objectives. Many will require the ability and flexibility to support multivendor cloud and multiple deployment choices (e.g., public cloud, private cloud, and hybrid cloud).

ESG recently conducted a quantitative research study to assess companies’ IT Transformation maturity. ESG found that operating a modern server environment, defined as an environment in which operations tasks are more automated than manual, led to a perception of cost parity with the public cloud. Nearly half felt their cost of compute was highly competitive with CSPs and another 48% felt it was generally comparable.
